Students Visit the State Capitol Building

On Tuesday, April 9, 2019, UASCS students visited the State Capitol Building in Albany, NY, to meet two local civic leaders/representatives: Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon and Senator Joseph Griffo. Students were enthusiastic about their experience meeting and talking with the assemblywoman and the senator, but one of the most memorable moments occurred when Assemblywoman Buttenschon introduced them and Mrs. Grabovica to the entire State Assembly Chamber. Assemblywoman Buttenschon read aloud the school’s mission to the chamber, then called all of the students’ names individually and said great things about our school.

The Speaker of the House then stood up and acknowledged the students, spoke about the school, and thanked the students for coming. Everyone in the State Assembly Chamber applauded, making all of the students extremely proud of their school.
