On Saturday and Sunday, October 24th and 25th 2015, a group of compassionate Utica Academy of Science 7th, 8th, and 10th graders volunteered their own time to give back to the community in which the live. The participating scholars spent time raking leaves for elderly community members who were more than grateful to receive some assistance.
“My yard hasn’t looked this great in years; can you come back next year,” asked a resident. With as successful as this outing was, I think it is safe to say we’re already looking forward to next year.
A special thanks to Mr. Durmisevic for providing a terrific lunch for the 10th graders, at his restaurant after a great morning of team building, raking and community interaction.
A word from Ms. Orioli "Fall clean up was awesome! We had 22 scholars and the help of Ms. Veldina and Mr. Ozer, even though he and I both have the flu! Everyone did an awesome job :) enjoy the weekend!"

Update: We have also received a thank you letter from the Oneida county for the volunteer work we did during the fall cleanup.
