Combat Climate Change: UAS High School Students Compete in Micron Robotics Challenge

Saturday, January 28th, 2023: Junior-senior high school Utica Academy of Science Atoms participated in the Micron Robotics Challenge. This year’s challenge prompt was “Combat the effects of climate change.” Teams needed to be made up of at least four students, and individual schools were limited to 3 teams maximum. Teams had to design, build, and test a prototype device that addressed the challenge prompt and met certain specifications to be eligible for awards. Judges evaluated projects in a science-fair style judging session on three metrics: technical proficiency, design creativity/process, and student comprehension of STEM concepts.
