Thursday, March 28th, 2024: Utica Academy of Science Junior-Senior High hosted jazz icon "Doctuh" Michael Woods.
Scholars and families soaked in the soulful sounds of jazz with Doc Woods and his orchestra. Special thanks to Mr. Bryant for the introduction. Smooth jazz that truly soothed our souls!
Monday, April 15th, 2024: Utica Academy of Science Kindergarteners aren't just learning about butterflies in books—they're witnessing the magic firsthand! Each kindergarten class has transformed into a mini butterfly sanctuary with their own habitat. From tiny caterpillars to beautiful butterflies, these scholars are on a captivating journey through the mesmerizing life cycle of these winged wonders!
Tuesday, April 9th, 2024: Talk about a field trip to remember! Utica Academy of Science third graders experienced the Women's World Championship hockey game at the Adirondack Bank Stadium!
Surrounded by the electrifying atmosphere, Atoms witnessed top-tier women's hockey as Germany faced off against China, showcasing skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship at its finest.
But it wasn't just about the game; it was a day of connection and camaraderie as our scholars bonded with peers from Utica and Syracuse schools. The students enjoyed cheering for their favorite team, taking pictures with mascots, and learning skills and techniques for scoring a goal!
Wednesday, March 27th, 2024: Utica Academy of Science 4th-grade students dedicated March to studying influential women in history, including Anne Frank and others who have made significant impacts. Through extensive research and practice, these young Atoms crafted detailed and informative slideshow presentations to share with their peers. What a fantastic way to honor Women's History Month and celebrate the achievements of inspiring women!
