Science is Bubbling Over in UAS 5A

Ms. Johnson’s 5A UAS Students Conduct Hands-On Chemical Reactions Investigation

Wednesday, March 19th, 2025: Ms. Johnson’s 5A class dove into an exciting hands-on science experiment exploring chemical reactions. Using baking soda, calcium chloride, and phenol red solution, students investigated HYG reactions and observed chemical changes right before their eyes. From color changes to temperature shifts and the formation of gas bubbles, the young scientists experienced firsthand how different substances interact to create new materials.

This engaging activity helped students strengthen their understanding of chemical properties, the scientific method, and the excitement of discovery. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to connect classroom learning to real-world science in a fun and memorable way!

We’re proud of our UAS Atoms for their curiosity, teamwork, and scientific thinking!
