High School Atoms Summer Reading Guide

Friday, July 5, 2019–While school may not be in session right now, the learning doesn't stop here. A summer filled with literary adventures can begin today! Atoms in grades 6th-12th, find out what makes Jay Gatsby so 'Great,' embark on an adventure with Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which (and Meg, Calvin and Charles) in A Wrinkle in Time, head on a summer adventure with the 'Septembers' and their magical pants, put on your detective hat and discover what might have happened to the Dog in the Night-Time, and much more. Atoms are also eligible to partake in New York State's Summer Reading Program for free digital books by visiting http://www.summerreadingnys.org/.

Atoms Host 6th Annual International Night

UASCS 6th Annual International Night

Mark your calendars for Thursday, June 13th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM as the Atoms set out to travel the world at their 6th Annual international Night. Invite your friends and family for an evening filled with dancing, music, traditions, and cuisine from all around the world. International Night is open to all grades to attend.

June 2019 Regents Exam

Regents Exam Schedule for June 3, 2019 and June 18, 2019 through June 25, 2019

Attention all 9th - 12th grade students, Regents exams will kick-off on Monday, June 3rd at 9:15 AM. Regents exams will continue Tuesday, June 18th through Tuesday, June 25th. Students will be notified if they are required to take an exam or attend a review class. If students do not have a Regents exam or a Regents review class to attend, they will not need to come to school during that week. Please consult the schedule below for additional exam information.

Second Annual College Fair

 
The Utica Academy of Science High School will be hosting it's second annual College Fair on March 22, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the high school gym.

Attention all #UASCS Alumni - Your alma matter is hosting an alumni event next Thursday, January 10 at 6:00 p.m. located at the Utica Hotel at Centre (Old Radisson Hotel). Price will be $12-25 per person. We can't wait to see you there!

Literary Magazine Call for Submissions

Do you have a story begging to be told? Submit your piece for the new Utica literary magazine, Pen and Paper. The mission of the magazine is, "Pen and Paper is a literary magazine that started within the walls of Utica Academy of Science, but is eager to encompass all of the greater Utica area. We value words in their rawest form and their ability to inspire, heal, teach, entertain as well as challenge and change perspectives. We look for powerful writing full of imagery, emotion, creativity and truth.”

The public may submit poetry, short stories, nonfiction works, paintings, sketches, drawing and sculpture on any theme. A sculpture will be photographed and other art reproduced in color. Stories should be less than 5,000 words. Please, no anonymous pieces.

Back to School BBQ at #UASCS High School

On Saturday, September 22, 2018, the #UASCS High School will be hosting their Back to School BBQ Event from Noon to 3:30 p.m. This event is a fundraiser for our athletics department and will feature an array of great activities. The day will include a basketball tournament, Kan-Jam games, ladder ball, open play soccer and volleyball, a bounce house & jungle gym, and teacher vs. student games.

Baked goods & BBQ food will be for sale at the door. We can't wait to see you there. Go Atoms!
