Our top priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors. This comprehensive plan outlines our procedures and protocols for maintaining a secure and supportive learning environment.

The Utica Academy of Science Charter School (UASCS) is excited to announce two new projects funded by generous grants from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. We seek bids from qualified companies, builders, and contractors to improve our school's security and accessibility.

  • Description: Enhance the lighting in the front and back parking lots.

  • Description: Improve access control by installing metal detectors and X-ray baggage scanners at the school entrance.

Monday, June 17th, 2024: Attention Utica Academy of Science Parents and Guardians: Due to the forecasted high temperatures this week, we will be shortening the days for students to ensure their safety and required comfort. 

On Tuesday, June 18th, and Thursday, June 20th, grades K-5 will be dismissed at 12 PM, grades 6-8 will be dismissed at 11 AM, and high school grades 9-12 will follow the regents schedule we previously shared. Regents will take place in air-conditioned spaces.

Friday, June 21st, will be a regular school day, as temperatures are expected to return to normal. We will let you know if there are any changes.

Friday, June 28th, 2024: Attention Utica Academy of Science families: The 2024-25 District Wide Safety Plan public hearing is scheduled for Friday, June 28th, at 10 a.m. at the SANY conference center. Safety is our top priority, and we invite all parents, students, and staff to attend this important event.
