Friday, December 4th, 2020—The Utica Academy of Science National Honor Society students hosted an online game night that was simply put out of this world! Students played the hit strategy game, Among Us, where they determine who amongst them is the imposter looking to sabotage the mission. Each participant would act as a crew member aboard a spaceship with the goal of having their spacecraft return back to earth safely.

Monday, December 14th, 2020—The week before winter break means only one thing for the Utica Academy of Science middle school Atoms - Spirit Week! Students, both virtual and in person learning, have the opportunity to participate in a week-long event where each day is a different theme. Below are the Spirit Week themes.

• Tuesday (12/15): Twinning Tuesday - pair up with someone and dress alike

• Thursday (12/17): Fan Day - support something you are a fan of, like a sports team ... go Atoms!
• Friday (12/18): Pajama Day: Stay Warm & Cozy in your PJ's today

Friday, December 4th, 2020—“From there to here from here to there, baby things are everywhere!" – Dr. Seuss.  Oh baby, what a surprise! Utica Academy of Science middle school hosted a socially distant baby shower to celebrate teacher, Ms. Adams who will be delivering a bundle of joy soon. Congratulations Ms. Adams, we wish you and your family well with your new family addition

Tuesday, December 1st, 2020—The month of December is a magical time for the Utica Academy of Science middle school Atoms. It is during this month that a favorite friend pays a visit from the North Pole to see how the students are doing. This friend is Sebastian the Elf! But before we get ahead of ourselves and dive in on the crazy adventures he has already had this month, let’s meet him first!

Sebastian came to Ms. Adams' Health Class in 2018, and from the beginning he was pretty adventurous and kept the students on their toes. The following year, he stepped out of his comfort zone and baked what he thought were delicious holiday cookies ... but turns out he wasn't much of a master chef or culinary genius. Sebastian was embarrassed by his cooking mishap and went away; however with a little bit of magic and the help of some awesome students, we are excited to share that Sebastian is back and gracing the halls with his presence or presents??? Thursday, December 3rd, 2020—Alright, Utica Academy of Science fans and followers, it's time to ‘Get on Your Feet’ and sing and dance with the Utica Academy of Science Elementary Atoms. Weeks of hard work, dedication and a lot of practice the Atoms create a performance that will make you want to jump out of your seat and join in on the festivities. Students took the time to learn the lyrics to Gloria Estefan’s song, Get on Your Feet. Click here to view their adorable performance. Friday, November 20th, 2020—It's okay to ‘Drone on’ when it's about the Utica Academy of Science Atoms! The high school Atoms had an opportunity to learn a new skill that could take them to new heights, that is 400 feet above ground to be exact. Students who participated in the STEP program workshop learned about ATTOP drones, and upon completion of the program received a free drone!

Tuesday, November 24th, 2020—The week of Thanksgiving Recess the Utica Academy of Science high school Atoms and teachers compete against one another in a classic whodunit virtual game called, Among Us. The high school students teamed up to take on the teachers for this virtual adventure.

Tuesday, November 24th, 2020—Utica Academy of Science High School welcomes its newest members to their National Honor Society chapter for the 2020 - 2021 school year, as well as announces its Election of Officers.

Friday, November 20th, 2020—Lights, Camera, Smile Atoms its picture day! Keeping health and safety in mind for all, Utica Academy of Science elementary school hosted a picture day for both its hybrid learning students, as well as its remote learning students. Hybrid students had picture day on Tuesday and Friday (11/17 & 11/20) during school hours, while remote learning students were Friday (11/20) after school. Thursday, November 17th, 2020—At the beginning of the school year the Utica Academy of Science Middle School Atoms each wrote down goals as to what they would like to achieve this school year. One of their many goals was to receive a high grade point average. It is no surprise that many of our students have already achieved that goal and will continue to reach it every marking period.

At the end of the first marking period the Utica Academy of Science Middle School administration team presented honor roll certificates to the hybrid students who were able to meet the following grade point averages, and certificates were mailed to the online students who also met the same grade point averages.

• Honor Roll: 90-92.9
• High Honor Roll: 93-96.9
• Dean’s List Award: 97-100
