Summer Meals 2021

Utica Academy of Science Charter Schools We will begin our Summer Meals Program starting on Tuesday, July 6th through Friday, August 20th from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday. All meals will be free for children 18 years old and under.

Tuesday, July 6th, 2021—Attention Utica Academy of Science Families: We will begin our Summer Meals Program starting on Tuesday, July 6th through Friday, August 20th. All meals will be free for children 18 years old and under. Parents may pick-up meals at the following locations from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. These meals include a nutritionally compliant lunch and a supplement snack. The lunch and snack menu are subject to change, please see additional information below.

Lunch and Snack Menu

Monday 

  • Lunch: Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich, fresh broccoli florets & fresh piece of fruit.
  • Snack: Cereal bar, cheese stick & fresh piece of fruit.

Tuesday 

  • Lunch: Turkey & Cheese sandwich, veggie sticks & hummus, & fresh piece of fruit.
  • Snack: Graham Crackers, cheese stick & fresh piece of fruit.

Wednesday 

  • Lunch: Mixed Deli Sub, carrot sticks & dip, & fresh piece of fruit.
  • Snack: Chocolate Chip Muffin, cheese stick & fresh piece of fruit.

Thursday

  • Lunch: Turkey Ham & Cheese Sandwich, corn kernels, & fresh piece of fruit.
  • Snack: Whole Grain Pop-Tart, cheese stick & fresh piece of fruit.

Friday

  • Lunch: Bologna & Cheese Sandwich, cucumber & celery sticks, & fresh piece of fruit.
  • Snack: Whole Grain Oatmeal Cookie, cheese stick & fresh piece of fruit.

Assorted Milk will be made available each day. The above menu is subject to change. Select condiments will be made available including mayonnaise and mustard.

Juneteenth is the commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. The origins of the commemoration date back to June 19th, 1865, when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas first heard that the Civil War had ended, and they were free. Juneteenth gets its name from a combination of June and nineteenth and is also known as Black Independence Day, Juneteenth Independence Day, and Emancipation Day.

NYS Vaccination Scholarship Incentive

New York State launches its new vaccination scholarship incentive program. Students who have received the COVID-19 vaccine and are between the ages of 12 - 17 can enter for a chance to win a full scholarship to a SUNY or CUNY school.

Thursday, May 27th, 2021—New York State has launched its new vaccination scholarship incentive program called, 'Get a Shot to Make Your Future.' Students who are between the ages of 12 -17 and are have received the COVID-19 vaccine, can enter for a chance to win a full scholarship to a SUNY or CUNY school.

Parents or legal guardians of any New Yorker, ages 12 to 17, can enter their child who has received at least their first COVID-19 vaccine dose, for a chance to win one of 50, four-year full-ride scholarships (including tuition, fees, room-and-board, and expenses) to any New York State public college or university.

Upstate Medical University Program

Utica Academy of Science has partnered with Upstate Medical University to offer a 4-year program for its students that would allow them to be immersed into the medical field at Upstate Medical University.

Friday, June 11th, 2021—Utica Academy of Science is proud to announce its new partnership with Upstate Medical University that will offer high school students interested in the medical and health industry an opportunity to participate in a 4-year program that would allow students to be immersed into the medical field through mentorship, internships, university courses, and interaction with medical students and Upstate Medical University.

This program will allow for students who are interested in pre-medicine or any health related field to be fast tracked into Upstate Medical University, and it would also look excellent on any transcript when applying to any college or university.

Athletic Booster Club Meeting

Utica Academy of Science high school’s Athletic Booster Club will be hosting its first virtual meeting on June 9th at 7:00 PM for families with student athletes, and those who wish to learn more about this organization.

Wednesday, June 9th, 2021—Utica Academy of Science high school is excited to announce its new Athletic Booster Club, which will help support the efforts of the Atoms athletic teams. To kick-off this new club, Athletic Director, Mr. Wagner will be hosting a virtual meeting on Wednesday, June 9th at 7:00 PM on Zoom.

This will be a great opportunity for families with student athletes to learn more about this club and organization, and how they can best support their student athlete. Please see the club meeting details below. We hope to 'see you' there!
