On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, to celebrate Black History Month and Women's History Month, the UASCS Pre-Calculus class presented projects worked on in pairs. Each team of scholars chose a male or female African American mathematician to study and presented a short story of the mathematician’s life and major contributions to the Math world. Sharing what they learned was a great opportunity for all students to enhance their knowledge of the excellent achievements of Black men and women.

On Friday, February 15, 2019, first graders went behind the scenes at our local WKTV News Studio. The students learned about the enhanced technology in the control room and the types of job available at a news station. #UASAtoms met the news anchors and watched from the sidelines during a live newscast. Our students were full of questions and excitement, and a few walked away saying that they would like to work at a news station someday. Thank you, WKTV, for a great visit.
