Saturday, October 28th, 2022: Utica Academy of Science Atoms participated in Harvest on the Hill. About 15 scholars helped set up candy booths and tents. The boys' basketball team and Ms. Williams participated in the parade down James Street in remembrance of community leader Patrick Johnson. He lost his battle with cancer a few weeks ago.
Children from the community went from booth to booth getting candy and all types of goodies and treats. We proudly showed the SANY spirit of many atoms, one family, by wearing orange shirts. Ms. Williams took it to the next level sporting her new look… orange hair! Thank you, Ms. Senora Pierce and Ms. Kia Williams, for inviting Utica Academy of Science to such a special community event.
Friday, November 4th, 2022: Utica Academy of Science Junior Senior High School is happy to announce we held an Instant Decision Day with SUNY Poly. Scholars met with Jeffery, the admissions officer, for five to ten-minute interview sessions. Ninety percent of the students who participated were accepted!
We are very proud of our seniors! Congratulations to those that got in!
Thursday, November 3rd, 2022: A wonderful group of Utica Academy of Science Junior Senior High School scholars from the Future Medical Professionals Club, Club President Mia Bajic, and her team raised over $250 by selling pink ribbons for breast cancer research. They achieved this in less than a week!
Thank you to all the staff that supported our students in this fundraiser. They were so proud of their accomplishment!
Monday, October 31st, 2022: Utica Academy of Science Elementary School students and staff were doing the monster mash at their annual Halloween party! Dressing as their favorite characters was the perfect way to kick off #spiritweek at the school.
We hope everyone had plenty of treats and no tricks this Halloween!

Friday, October 28th, 2022: 2nd graders went on a field trip to Pumpkin Junction! Everyone got to pick a pumpkin to take home. They also rode the "Monster Ghoul Bus," a school bus with giant monster truck wheels! Atoms challenged each other to find their way out of the corn maze and rewarded themselves with apple cider and donuts before returning to school.
Friday, October 28th, 2022: October was breast cancer awareness month. To show their support, Utica Academy of Science Elementary School staff and students wore pink to school. Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among women and the second leading cause of death from cancer, behind lung cancer. It’s important to know the symptoms and be your own advocate for your health.
Monday, October 31st, 2022: Welcome, foolish mortals! Take a walk through Utica Academy of Science’s Haunted Hallways if you dare! It was all tricks and no treats at the junior-senior high school. These creative atoms organized Haunted Hallways. It was a spook-tacular event to celebrate Halloween.
Thursday, October 27th, 2022: Utica Academy of Science fourth graders headed to The Farmer’s Museum in Cooperstown, NY. We traveled back to 1845 and experienced how life was for children of that time. We walked through this historic village and visited a blacksmith shop, a pharmacy, a schoolhouse, and the farm animals. We even got the chance to ride the Empire State Carousel!
Tuesday, October 25th, 2022: What do you call a pumpkin that works at the beach? A life-gourd!
This time, Utica Academy of Science first graders went to Pumpkin Junction! Students got to ride on the monster school bus, pick pumpkins, walk through a corn maze, play in the fall leaves, and enjoy cider and doughnuts.
Thursday, September 29th, 2022: It may almost be November, but today we’re throwing it back to the end of September! Utica Academy of Science had its first student of the month assembly for this academic year. Awarding students in different categories for their achievements and success in September was great. We are so proud of every one of our students! Keep shining bright, Atoms!
